Grey Bears runs two recycling drop-off centers. One is at 2624 Chanticleer Ave. and the other is at the Buena Vista landfill. Between the two operations, we recycle 8,000 tons annually. We accept the same commodities (recyclables) that are picked up curbside.
Buena Vista takes metals, oil, antifreeze, and batteries in addition to the other commodities taken at curbside. An average of 17,000 vehicles per month come to these two sites bringing cardboard, glass, aluminum, paper, and plastics.
All proceeds from recycling are put back into the Brown Bag Program to feed seniors.
